Following the successful completion of the PISA 2025 Main Survey, the Ministry of Education and Science confirmed that Tajikistan will continue its engagement with PISA in the next assessment cycle, in 2029.
Between 2 and 25 April 2025, trained test administrators conducted the PISA 2025 Main Survey in 160 schools across Dushanbe. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science, the Director of the National Testing Centre and the EU project's education expert visited participating schools to observe the assessment.
The National PISA Centre held a two-day training seminar in Dushanbe for test administrators ahead of the Main Survey, covering testing procedures, materials handling and standardised administration scripts.
The Field Trial, piloting the PISA 2025 assessment instruments, was conducted from 6 to 21 May 2024 in 71 schools in Dushanbe. Of 2,272 sampled students, 2,129 took part — a 93.7% participation rate — helping the National Centre refine procedures ahead of the Main Survey.
A seminar at the National Library in Dushanbe brought together 220 participants, including 208 school principals and deputy principals, to introduce the PISA 2025 study and prepare schools for their role in it.
